BUILDING SCHEME.
Subsidy Application Forms Not Yet Available.
The new building subsidy scheme, which will be known as the Number 12 Scheme, will probably commence to operate as soon as supplies of application forms are received by the Labour Department at Christchurch. At present the officer in charge of the department at Christchurch (Mr R. T. Bailey) has only one specimen application form and set of rules relating to the latest unemployment relief scheme in his possession. As in the case of the Number 10 scheme, applications for the subsidy will be handled by the Labour Department, and the local certifying officer will forward them on to the Unemployment Board for consideration. The board reserves the right to decline any application or to approve of only a reduced subsidy, to cancel the subsidy in the event of a breach of any of the rules covering the scheme, and to recover any subsidy which might have been paid to the owner -of a building prior to the detection of any breach.
