The Christchurch Tomato and Stonefruit Growers’ Association, at its meeting on Saturday night, decided to write to all local bodies concerning the amount of water used for commercial purposes, with a view to obtaining considerable reductions in charges and correct readings of the amount of water used. The chairman, Mr 11. T. Falla, said he thought that lOd a thousand gallons was excessive. Other members pointed out that some districts were paying up to Is Sd a thousand gallons.
