TRAVELS RESUMED.
Ranfurly Shield on Tour With Hawke’s Bay. CHALLENGES RECEIVED. The Ranfurly Shield, after reposing in Canterbury for three years, went on its travels again this morning, going to Dunedin with its new holders, Hawke’s Bay, who left Christchurch b}* the express this morning. Already there is a new set of challengers for the shield, but for the time being Canterbury are no longer interested. Hawke’s Bay will play Otago at Dunedin on Wednesday, Southland on Saturday, and will then return to the North Island, playing Wellington at Wellington on August IS. Taranaki in Hawke’s Bay on September 1, Wanganui in Hawke’s Bay on September 6, and Auckland in Hawke’s Ba> r on September 8. A Press Association message from Napier states that challenges for the Ranfurly Shield have been received by the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union from Wanganui and Manawatu.
