Bureaucratic Justice.
Dear Sir, —There is one aspect of the encroachment of the Government departments that I hope will be taken due notice of, if any reform is to be brought about, and that is the way in which the legal forces of the Government —which means the whole country—are marshalled against the private individual. I would refer you particularly to a recent case in which the Publice Trustee was sued by a widow, and had judgment given against him. But he appealed, forcing the widow to expense that may not end in the Appeal Court, for if the Crown chooses it can go to the House of Lords, and the respondent might win her * case and still be beggared. Is there no redress against this bringing of the whole legal (and financial) resources of the country against a private citizen of the country.—l am, etc., NO COMMUNIST.
