Residents of Papatoetoe proceeding to the railway station one morning this week were curious about some sounds proceeding out of the plantation near the station. There were heavy crashes. Presently out of the trees there bounded a beautiful big hare, and in full chase a few Seconds later c:-»me a big black cat. The chase led across the road and then back to the trees, but not fer long, for out they came again, with the cat gaining on the hare. It was soon over, for the black cat made a splendid “ kill.” and disappeared in the brush with its victim.
