Thirteen years ago Mrs. Sarah J. Clirister, aged 51. came to Clough Dene. Durham, from Vancouver, to see her mother before she died. She was robbed when she landed in England. Her husband and two sons in Vancouver lost their jobs and were unable to help her. Six months ago Mrs. Christer had to apply for relief. Now, at long last, she. is going home. The Durham County Public Assistance Committee has granted her £35 to pay her passage to Vancouver.
