DOUBTFUL SOUND TRACK.

A tramp through the beautiful scenery of the track from Lake Manapouri to Doubtful Sound was given by Mr W. A. Kennedy in a lecture to the North Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Kducatiinal Institute last evening. Mr Kennedy illustrated his lecture with a series of magnificent coloured slides giving his audience a vivid impression of the glories of the country. It was, he pointed out, little traversed country, and not much was known of it. Manapouri itself had attractions that could not be entirely covered in a single holiday, and to see it properly one had to camp first on one island and then on another so that all facets of the view were opened up. Reflection and sunset effects were remarkable in their beauty. Along the track the everchanging vistas were a continued delight. Mr Kennedy was thanked for his address.
