Because an aeroplane advertising a well-known firm flew over the Mersey | Tunnel entrance during the King’s | speech, the firm, while announcing that | its instructions had miscarried, gave S the Lord Mayor of Liverpool £SOOO for charities as atonement for an incident detracting from the impressiveness of the ceremony.
