To-day’s Recipe
Slice four bananas into a basin, sprinkle well with sugar and the juice of one lemon. Leave for two hours, line a dish with short pastry. Decorate the • edges, melt a tablespoon butter and mix with it the yolk of two eggs. Add it to the bananas; mix well and put the mixture into the pastry. Bake for twenty minutes. Make a meringue of the whites of the eggs and castor sugar, pile on top of the bananas, sprinkle with sugar and cock it in a slow oven.
