MACARTHY TRUST.

Per Press Association.

WELLINGTON, July 3.

A provision in the will of the late Mr T. G. Macarthy became operative on the death of Mrs Macarthy Reid on Sunday. Mr Macarthy’s will provided that, after the payment of certain annuities, one half of the annual income from the residuary estate was to be paid to the life tenant (the widow), and the remaining moiety became distributable each year between charitable and educational institutions. On the death of the life tenant the whole of the capital and income of the estate, subject to any annuities gtill payable, becomes available for the trust. Up till last year £189,677 had been distributed between charitable and educational institutions in the Wellington province.
