Annual Meeting Elects

Officers.

The third annual meeting of the Christchurch Scottish Pip© Band (Inc.) was held recently, the president (Mr T. M. Charters) presiding. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report and balancesheet, which disclosed a credit balance of £95, referred to the difficult times through which the band had passed, particularly in its efforts to build up the funds neceesary for the equipment of the men with uniforms. The reports of the drum-major and pipe-major indicated that the work of the bandsmen generally had been satisfactory. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr T. M. Charters; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs ,T. F. Bennett, G. Buist, J. S. Chisholm. W. B. Craig R. Creglington. J. Durie, J. Erskine, R. J. Estall, J. Fraser, S. Gilray, R. Kerr, H. ,S. S. Kyle, T. G. M’Caw, P. M’Tainsh, J. M'K. Norrie, G. S. Peek, T. Potts, E. Rattray, A. Rose, J. Sneddon, J. Darroch and A. MacDonald; secretary, Mr L. J. Fraser; treasurer, Mr W. Duncan; drum-major, Mr S. Newton; pipe-major, as Mr J. A. Patterson was not available, the appointment was left to the incoming Management Committee; Management Committee, president, secretary, treasurer, drummajor and pipe-major (ex officio), and Pipers R. L. Will, H. Johnston and T. F. Lange; trustees, Messrs W. Duncan, J. A. Patterson and L. J. Fraser; delegates to Pipers and Dancers’ Association, pipe-major (ex officio) and Mr J. Campbell; delegates to Provincial Bands' Association, Messrs R. L. Will and L. J. Fraser; delegates to Highland Pipe Bands* Association, Messrs R. L. Will and A. M’Tainsh; auditors, Mr A. D. Cooper and one other to he appointed by the president; custodian, Mr T. F. Lange; pipe-sergeant, Mr A. M’Tainsh; pipe-corporal, Mr L. Whyte; drum-sergeant., Mr D. Harland; drumcorporal, Mr E. O’Connell.
