GLADIOLUS SOCIETY.

FTher# was a large attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Gladiolus Society, Mr W. R. Toon presiding. The schedules for the two annual shows were approved, and the society received donations of two cups, to be won outright, in competition at the gladioli and dahlia shows respectively. A number of prizes were also received from North Island donors. The application of an American citizen for membership was granted. Two other new members were also elected. The following were appointed to the Floral Committee:—Dr A. C. M’Killop, Messrs C. Rides. E. E. Wiltshire. H. Woods, W. R. Toon, A. Soanes and G. Taylor. It was. reported that a talk on the preparation and planting of gladioli would be given at the Y.M.C.A. on July I f>, when the speakers would be Messrs W. R. Toon and IT. Woods.
