RETURNED SOLDIERS.

Executive of Association Meets.

An executive meeting of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association was held last evening, the president (the Rev F. T. Read) presiding. The following were appointed to the Cottage Homes General Committee: — Messrs W. Darby, A. L. Emerson and C. Miln.

It was decided that a deputation, consisting of the president, vice-president and secretary, attend a meeting of the National War Funds Council with respect to the cottage homes scheme.

It was reported that 183 applications had been received by the Benevolent Committee for the past fortnight, an increase of eleven over the last period. Mr T. H. Stone wrote suggesting the formation of a sub-branch of the R.S.A. at Hororata.
