TRAM BOARD BEATEN.
Billiards Match Against Employees. Tramway Board members disappointed supporters last night, when they were beaten at billiards by the employees by six games to five. Board members and officers of the staff were the guests of the Tramway Social Club, and the match was played at the social hall in Palsgrave Street. The chairman of the board (the Rev J. K. Archer) did not run true to his indicated form. He did not score a point, but he and his partner were beaten by only a small margin, 100 to SS. _ The visitors were the guests of the Social Club at a supper of tea and sausage rolls, and during the evening an opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Mr J. Alexander, one of the employees, who is leaving the service to take up another vocation.
The games resulted as follows, board names being given first: Messrs J. Mathison and E. Parlane beat Messrs D. Milne and J, Dawson, 100-77: the Rev J. K. Archer and Mr L. Smith lost to Messrs E. Oberg and R. Turner, S 6-100; Messrs J. Mathison and E. Parlane beat Messrs D. French and JPenticost, 100-41: Messrs A. Fraser and J Mathison beat Messrs J. Cadenhead and O. Hogan, 100-74: Messrs E. Parlane and G. Hodge lost to Messrs C. Guy and J. Wilkinson, 49-100; Messrs J. Mathison and A. Fraser lost to Messrs J. Turpin and F, Holmes, SS--100; Messrs W. Dick and P. C. Davis lost to Messrs S. Sambrook and h - Allen, 79-100: Messrs T. Bain and G. Hodge lost to Messrs F. Holmes and A. Duncan, 45-100; Messrs A. Fraser and W. Dick beat Messrs- D. Lockie and D M'Kenzie, 100-80: Messrs W. Dick and P. C. Davies beat Messrs W. Bate and N. Clemens, 100-97; Messrs E. Parlane and G. Hodge lost to Messrs A. Paton and R. Commons. 65100.
