Tragedy in West Australian Mine. GALLANT RESCUE ATTEMPT. United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Con v right. (Received June 27, 1 p.m.) KALGOORLIE, June 27. Two men. Andrew Dasanini, aged 30, and Pietro Bendotti, aged 28, were asphyxiated by gas fumes in the Sons cf Gwalia Mine, 160 miles north of Kalgoorlie. A third man was gassed in an heroic attempt to rescue the men. He was hauled to the surface and sent to hospital in a delirious condition.
