Heiress Wants to Wed Hairdresser. KAYE DON’S SISTER-IN-LAW. (Special to the “ Star.”) •NEW YORK, May 29. Sylvia Martin, eighteen-year-old sis-ter-in-law of Kaye Don, and part heiress to a £5,000,000 fortune, has applied for a license to marry Roberte Ezequelle. son of a fireman. Ezequelle is a hairdresser. Leonard J. Martin, the girl’s father, who is reputed to have made £5,000,000 by the sale of surplus aeroplane linen bought from the British Government, is considering whether he will forbid the marriage. When issuing the license, the town clerk of Greenwich, Connecticut, told Miss Martin that she would be unable to marry without her father’s consent. She replied that she had not yet told him, but would break the news in a day or two. Some one else told Mr Martin, however, while he was in Florida. lie hastened back by aeroplane. To these two love came through the looking-glass. Miss Martin went to the hairdressing establishment where her fiance worked. While he was giving her a permanent wave they saw each other in the mirror—and fell in love at first sight. Miss Martin’s sister Eileen was married to Kaye Don, the British racing motorist, in 1932. The Martins came to America from England several years ago. after Mr Martin had bought 45,000,000 yards of Government linen. The Government received £3,733,000 for the material, and after the deal he was assessed at £1,900,000 for income tax.
