Declaring that his life’s work is finished, a 125-year-old head priest of a Hindu temple in the United Provinces has been buried alive at his own request by pilgrims. lie was at the temple for more than half a centurv. The practice of self-immolation is said to be customary when a priest is con- , vinced that his usefulness is ended.
