To Correspondents.
The perennial aster is a single-rayed composite flower growing from two to six feet in height. The flowers appear in trusses at the tops of the season’s shoots. The colours range from white to blue and to rosepink. The flower stalks rise from foliage which is fairly flat on the ground. They can be propagated by division or seed, but the named varieties have to be propagated by division. They will grow quite freely from seed, but may not be true to the parents. Another name for the perennial aster is Michaelmas daisy.
