HIS LAST CHANCE.

Prisoner Given Probation in Theft Case. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. June 11. “ You must understand that the law is being stretched in your case,” said Mr Justice Ostler to-day, when sen tencing Alan Charles Barker for theft of £383 from his uncle, who employee* him on a farm. Barker took the money, which was in banknotes, from a stable where it was hidden. The Judge said Barker’s uncle had asked that the prisoner should be given probation, and he said that he was willing to take him back. This would be prisoner’s last chance. He would be admitted to two years’ probation.
