National Bank Team Beat Shield Holders.
Playing for the business firms’ championship for the C. M. Brown Co., Rtd., Challenge Shield, the holders. Zoalandia Soap and Candle Company, after five consecutive wins, were defeated by the National Bank of New Zealand by 4 points. Detailed results were as follows. Zealandia names first:—Shepherd. Wootten. Morley. Cooks 21; Fowler. Pope, Stott, Castle 25.
A three-rink interclub match between Sydenham and Papanui was won by Sydenham by 63 points to 56. Results, Sydenham skips first:—Armstrong 19, Hurdley 23; Bott 15, Morrison 28; Becconsall 29, Cowles 5.
