DANCE AT WOOLSTON.
Many Attend in Fancy Dress. LIBRARY COMMITTEE'S SUCCESS. The social committee of the Woolston Public Library held its annual plain and fancy dress dance in the Druids’ Hall on Saturday evening. The judges were: Mesdames E. R. M’Combs, M.P., and D. G. Sullivan, who awarded prizes to the following Ladies best fancy dress: Miss Elsie Bolt (Early Victorian) 1, Mrs Whiting (Spanish Lady) 2. Most original: Mrs Tucker (Sweetest at the Fair) 1. Men:—Best fancy dress: Mr C. Pepper (Spaniard) 1, Mr K. M’Laughlin (Cowman) 2. Best couple: Miss P. Beaumont and J M’Ewan (Mickey and Minnie Mouse). Novelty dances were won by Miss PGaudion and Mr S. Munro (lucky spot, one-step), Mesdames Cousins and Cro* thers (Monte Carlo waltz). Messrs C. White and M. Hooper supplied the music and Mr R. H. Beaumont played extras. Mr C. Ljlburne was M.C.
Those in costume were: Mesdames Trerise (Grandma), Mauger (Waitress), W. Yates (Good-night), Fox (School* boy), llrown (Egyptian Lady), Peth* eram (Schoolgirl), Whiting (Spanish Lad}*).
