OBITUARY
Alexander Aitken. Mr Alexander Aitken, a former man- I ager of the Hokitika branch of the Bank of New Zealand, died at his residence, Dean Street, last night. He was 68 years of age. Mr Aitken was born in Hokitika and joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand in that town. He later became manager of that branch, which office he held till his retirement eight years ago. Mr Aitken was keenly interested in mining. He was a staunch supporter of the Presbyterian Church, having been connected with Knox Church since he came to Christchurch on his retirement. Mr Aitken leaves a widow, two daughters and four sons. Julius Lutz. The death occurred at his residence, Henry Street, Wellington, on Monday, of Mr Julius Adolph Lutz, well known in commercial circles in Wellington, lie acted as German Consul during the absence of Mr W. Penseler. Mr Lutz was born in Phorzheim, Germany, and came to Wellington about 30 years ago. He is survived by a widow and a fam- . ily of three sons and three daughters.
