SUNDAY TRADING.
Several Shopkeepers Fined To-day. Several cases of Sunday trading were dealt with by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M , in the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Maud Nicholson pleaded guilty to a charge of keeping a shop open on Sunday, and was fined 10s and costs. George Young Black, John Edward Foote and Frederick James Gracie were each fined 10s and costs for similar offences. The case against Stanley Edward Smith, who was charged with aiding and abetting Gracie in the commission of the offence, was adjourned until June 1. Dirty Chimney. Herbert Cyril Dixon was fined 5s and costs for allowing his chimney to catch fire. Bartholomew' John Mann was fined 15s and costs for cycling at night without a light. He was ordered to pay costs on a charge of having no reflecto,on his machine, and for having no bell was convicted and' discharged. For cycling at night without a light Katherine O’Brien was fined 10s and costs.
