WOMEN’S GOLF
Final Matches Decided at Russley. The final matches of the women’s open golf tournament at Russley were played yesterday under pleasant conditions. In the afternoon a four-hall bogey competition was decided. The winers were Mrs B. Norton and Miss D. Judd, both of Malvern, with a fine card of 7 up, well ahead of the next best of 2 up. Both the winning pair played exceptionally well all through the tournament. Miss Judd was always in the running and tied in the junior bogey match on Thursday. Mrs Norton won the first junior medal on Thursday and in addition tied in yesterday’s medal, although she was not eligible for the trophy on account of her earlier success. Results:— Mrs B. Norton and Miss D. Judd. 7 up. Mrs Wilkin and Miss K. Johnston, 2 up. Mrs Fleetwood and Miss E. Fleetwood, 2 up. Miss M. Beadel and Miss V. Fleming, all square. Miss E. Macfnrlnne and Miss P. Wright, all square. Miss E. White-Parsons and Mrs M'Killop, 1 down. Miss R. Nutt and Miss K. Nutt, 1 Mrs A. Boon and Miss K. Dobson, 1 Mrs Burns and Miss G. M. Cotton. 2 down. Mrs H. Aspinall and Miss A. Young, 2 down. THE PRIZE LIST. At the conclusion of the day the prizes were presented by . 1 iss L. V. Gates, captain of the Russ y Ladies’ Club. Mis.s Gates thanked the visitors for attending and helping to make the tournament a success, and also thanked Mrs IT. S. Richards for presenting a challenge cup for the open championship. In addition she referred to the excellent work of the club captain, Miss G. M. Cotton, which had had much to do with the smooth running of the events. The prize list was a.s follows: Open c hampionship—Miss V. Fleming; runner-up, Miss M. Beadel. First medal handicaps—Mrs IT. S. Richards (seniors) and Mrs B. Norton (juniors). Second medal handicaps—Miss V. Fleming (seniors) and Mrs L. B. Scott . Bogey handicaps—Miss B. Holmes (seniors) and Misses D. Judd and A. Young (juniors). Yesterday’s medal matches—Mrs R. Lewis (seniors) and Miss C. Mitchell (juniors). Four-ball bogey—Mrs B. Norton and Miss D. Judd.

A stroke handicap was played on Thursday, the winner being: Mrs W.
The Ladies’ Golf Union medal match postponed from May 5 was played on Saturday. The winner in the silver division was Mrs H. Lewis and in the bronze division Miss J. Wright, who reduced her handicap by one stroke. The best cards were:— Seniors. Gross. Hep. Net.
