PICTURE PARTY

To celebrate the birthday of their only daughter, Joan, Mr and Mrs John E. Bates invited a number of her friends to a picture party at the Regent Theatre last night to witness the screening of “It Happened One Night.” After the performance, ilie guests were entertained at supper at Mi and Mrs Bates’s home in Holm- j wood Road, Fendalton. The party comprised:—Mr and Mrs I Russell Cordery, Mr and Mrs George Donaldson. Mr and Mrs John Bates, sen., Mr and Mrs John E. Bates, Misses Ethelwyn and Zena Bates, Joyce Cooper, Lois Ogilvie, Lorna Hicks, Betty Tait, Dorothy and Muriel Undrill. Messrs Bernard Lake, Richard Neale, Jack Myhre, Pat, lan and Geofrey Bell, Geoffrey Wallace, Desmond Parker, John Bates, Rollin Bates and George Binns.
