British Company to Exploit North Queensland. MINING CONCESSIONS. United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyrigh t. (Received May 21, 12.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, May 21. As a result of negotiations in London with the Premier of Queensland, Mr Forgan Smith, a British company is being formed to operate on concession in areas in North Queensland held by Commonwealth Mines Preliminary Syndicate, Ltd. The chairman of the new company will be Sir Hugh O’Neill, first Speaker in the House of Commons of Northern Ireland. The capital will be about £600,000. The concession covers 70,000 acres, which have been prospected for gold and other metals.
