FULL CO-OPERATION.
Trade Unions Agree to Voluntary Collections. Full co-operation with the Progress League's Centre in the provision of funds for the relief of distress was promised at a meeting of trade union secretaries at the Trades Hall yesterday. Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., Mayor of Christchurch, presided. Reports received from union secretaries who were members of the committee explained that that this year's collection from employees would be °n a purely voluntary basis, on lines to b-» suggested by the employees themselves. On that basis, the meeting determined to give full co-operation to the Progress League's scheme, and a subcommittee was set up to draw up a proposal. Representatives agreed to address meetings of employees wheie such addresses were desired.
