Australia Complies with Ottawa. (Special to the tr Star/*) WELLINGTON, May 7 'JPO COMPLY with the terms of the Ottawa Agreement, Australia, in December. 1933. reduced h*»r tariff against the United Kingdom, and it was announced that, taking exchange into account, the new tariff fully met all the requirements cf Ottawa. The Manufacturers’ Association, which has submitted the following significant comparison between existing New Zealand duties and the new Australian tariff, points out that it is not a question of what duties are “ reasonable ” but what are " allowed, and on this basis the figures become of vital interest.
