WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

The monthly meeting of the Hornby Women’s Institute was neld at the Parish Hall on Thursday afternoon.

Mrs Hepburn presided over a good at-

distributed among the members for making from Miss Havelaar. A recitation was given by Miss Althea Dral<;e. A bring and buy stall did good business. The home competition of a garment made from three ounces of wool resulted: Mrs .1. Rowe 1. Mrs E. Drake and Miss Hazel Mackie (equal) 2. The social half-hour competition was won by Mrs Davis, sen., with Mrs E. Drake and Miss Hazel Mackie equal second. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames C. Rugg and Morris and Miss W. Burt.
