FINAL SCREENINGS.
“In a Monastery Garden ” will be shown for the last time at the Civic Theatre to-night. A tribute to the popularity of this production is the fact that each night the crowds have increased, the unanimous opinion being that no more beautiful picture has ever been seen in Christchurch. The title of the film, “ In a Monastery , Garden,” gives little indication of the wide scope of the story or of the skill with which it has been transferred to the screen. From all angles this production has every claim to the title, , ‘‘The picture perfect.” John Stuart, Joan Maude, Hugh Williams and Humberstone Wright head a picked cast, all giving a performance that has ■ helped to lift the production far above the average. British Dominions Films advise patrons that they are temporarily ' vacating the Civic Theatre from [ to-night in favour of the Christchurch ■ Competitions Society, but will reopen i on Monday, May 28.
