VISITS TO LIBRARIES.

Carnegie Director in Christchurch. In the course of his tour of New Zealand, inspecting the libraries of the Dominion. Mr Ralph Munn, director of the Carnegie Library, Pittsburg, spent, a busy day in Christchurch. This morning he met members of the Canterbury University College Council, the body controlling the Christchurch Public Library, which Mr Munn inspected. Later in the morning, Mr Munn met delegates of the suburban libraries and gave a brief but interesting and informative address on library’ management, answering a number of questions. Tie then called on the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.), and was privately entertained at luncheon by the chief librarian of the Public Library (Mr E. J. Bell). This afternoon, Mr Munn’s programme was a tour of inspection of public libraries. He and Mr J. Barr, chief librarian of the Auckland Public Library, who is accompanying him, will leave for Dunedin to-morrow.
