Mistletoe Lodge.—Brother T Thompson, A.D., presided, and the result of the Vice-Arch charge competition in con- ! nection with the Royal Arch Chapter i No 1 was announced, the winner being Brother J. Collins (Ivy of Linwood). with Brother Foster (Mistletoe) second. The meeting on May 7 will take the form of a social evening, with dancing. The serial committee lias arranged an excellent programme, and Brothel Les Kinsman’s orchestra will supply the 1.0. K. Philipson Tent Anniversary.—The efforts of the social committee were amply rewarded in the large gathering at the anniversary social and dance. Over 200 Rechabites and friends celebrated the event in St John Ambulance Hall, and the committee is to he congratulated on its arrangements lor the pleasure of the b Freda Judkins' Brother D. A motion of sympathy | was passed to the relatives and friends I of the late Sister Lawrence. An in- ! vitation was accepted from the Star of I New Brighton Tent to attend the anni- j versary on May 15. An excellent pro- i gramme was arranged by Brother G. 1 Spiers, which included dancing and

piping by members of the Scottish Soriety, assisted by Brothers A. and W. Gray. Brothers C. H. Bascand and G. Good conducted the community singing in the social portion of the meeting. A.O.F. Court Papanui.—The Chief Ranger, Brother C. H. Holden, presided, and in connection with the annual conference to be held at Rakaia on May 3 the delegates were given instructions. It was resolved to send congratulations from the Court to Brother 11. K. Morgan (secretary Loyal Papanui, M.U.1.0.0.F.) on the celebration of the fiftieth year of his office as secretary. The resumption of the ladies’ evenings take effect from May 11. M.U., 1.0.0. F. Loyal Addington Brother G. F. Dawson, N.G., presided, and an invitation was received from Perseverance Lodge, U.A.0.D., to a social evening on | May 14, but it was decided to ask if arrangements could be made for May 28. For financial reasons the lodge was unable to support the request for a donation to Christchurch Free Ambulance. Brothers E. B. Harris and W. G. Wiggles worth, P.G., were appointed delegates to the meeting of the AntiWar Council. The N.G. reported on the social tendered to Brother Morgan. Sutton, ex- ! tended a welcome to the visiting sisters and also to P.D.G.M., Brother Donnldj son, of the Ashburton District. A letter was received from the Loyal Wairewa ! Lodge, Little River, stating that the | officers and members of that lodge i would be pleased to visit the City Lodge on some suitable occasion. It was ! decided that the lodge entertain the !
