TRAGEDY IN INDIA.
Many Lives Lost and Much Damage in Tornado. CALCUTTA, May 2. Twenty, persons were killed and a large number were injured, and a considerable amount of damage was done to property by a tornado which passed over Sylhet and its suburbs last night. Numbers of houses were blown down and telegraphic communications were cut. A Government launch and a number of cargo-laden country boats sank in the River Surma. Many persons are reported missing.
