i “ Take a Chance” Coming to Majestic. j 1 “ Bureau of Missing Persons,” in I in which the leading roles are capably I taken by Pat O’Brien, Lewis Stone and Bette Davis, heads the attractive bill of fare at the Majestic Theatre this week. James Dunn, Lilian Roth and June Knight are the principal players in the new musical film “ Take a Chance,” which comes to the Majestic Theatre on Monday. The story concerns four carnival entertainers who win fame and fortune on Broadway after many hectic adventures, which carry them through a multitude of laughs for the audience. There are six songs featured in “ Take a Chance,” two of which promise to be outstanding “ hits.” These are entitled “ I'm a Night Owl ” and “ It’s Only a Paper Moon.” Bright music, beautiful ballet girls, spectacular dance sequences and original comedy are features of this production. Opening at a small town carnival, the picture follows the careers of the four irrepressible youngsters safely through the villainies of a crooked gambler and a jealous actress, and ends with a double romance between Dunn and Lilian Roth and Charles (“Buddy”) Rogers and June Knight. Robert Gleckler. as the gambler who plots the ruin of June Knight, and Lilian Bond, as the actress who wants to force Rogers to marry her. provide both thrills and laughter throughout the story.
