GIRL UNCONSCIOUS.
Found With Head in Oven. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 2. Shortly after nine o’clock to-night, two young women hired a taxi to go to a house in College Street and on arrival there, one of them went inside, only to rush out a few minutes later calling that the house was full of gas and that a girl was unconscious in one of the rooms. The driver sent the two women for the police and he himself entered the house, where he » >und a young woman lying on the floor of the kitchen with her head in a gas oven. Dragging the unconscious woman outside, he attempted artificial respiration, and after twenty minutes she showed slight signs of consciousness. The ambulance was sent for and she was admitted to hospital. It is understood that her life is not in danger. The woman is understood to be a resident of Motueka.
