RADIANT THEATRE.

“ The Cat’s Cradle.”

Commencing to-night for a season of three performances in the Radiant Hall, is the Repertory Society's production of “The Cat’s Cradle.” This play is a comedy by Aimee and Philip Stuart, who have been the combined authors of a number of bright modern plays, dealing in a somewhat light fashion with individual and social problems of real importance. One of these, “Nine Till Six," has already previously been produced by the society. “The Cat’s Cradle” deals in a spirit of comedy with the theme of the eternal conflict between the need of a son to seek a life of his own and the filial demands of a doting mother who clings desperately to her dominion over her child. Mr and Mrs Stuart in this play avoid most of the bitterness which has accompanied previous dramas centred round the same theme, and through their witty dialogue give an exceptionall v entertaining presentation of the subject. The cast selected for the play includes Mrs H. G. Cotterill, Miss Florence Nicholls. Miss Joan Gard’ner, and Miss Sylvia Collins, and Messrs R. Twyneham. C. W. Collins and R. M. Young. The play has been produced by Mr Bernard Beeby under the direction of Professor Shelley. The box plans for the three nights are available at the society’s rooms, 15 Bedford Row, and already bookings are very heavy.
