New Zealand r s Letter to Australia. MR- A. B. LANE’S MISSION. United Press Assn.—Bj' Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CANBERRA, April 27 The Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons, to-day received a letter from the Prime Minister of New Zealand (Mr Forbes), which was personally handed to him by Mr A. B. Lane, manager of the New Zealand United Press Association, who is visiting Australia. Mr Forbes, in the letter, makes overtures for much closer relations between New Zealand and Australia. He notes the measures that Australia has adopted to deal with the depression and expresses pleasure at the economic recovery of the Commonwealth. The letter also refers to recent transTasman aviation achievements which are regarded as a happy augury for more frequent air services. Mr Lyons handed an official reply to Mr Lane. Mr Lane inspected the Federal capital ‘buildings and other features of interest and left for Melbourne.
