SHORTER HOLIDAYS.
Schools Affected by Measles. Some country schools in Canterbury have decided not to close for the end of term holidays which begin next Friday, owing to time lost by the pupils while the schools were closed during the measles outbreak. The Lyndhurst and Fernside schools are among those that will not observe the fortnight’s holiday. The Annat, Ashley and Leeston schools will be closed for only half the period The question of closing the schools is one for local decision.
