SLIGHT FROST.

Beautiful Day Follows Storm. Following heavy sou*-west rain on Wednesday and early vesterdav morning, the wind dropped last evening, leaving a slightly clouded sky. The air had a decided nip and indications were for a good frost. The reading taken at the Magnetic Observatory this morning, however, showed 28.4 degrees, or 3.6 degrees of frost. The heaviest frost this year was 5.6 degrees on April 13. So far Christchurch has not had any of the severe frosts experienced last winter, but with the dawn of a beautiful day, came a reminder of the clear, crisp, autumn days that have characterised autumn seasons of the past.
