MUSICAL ROMANCE.

“I Like It That Way” for Regent. Humour and pathos are delightfully blended in “ Lady for a Day,” which •will be shown finally to-night at the Regent Theatre. “I Like It That Way,” which comes to the Regent to-morrow, is said to be a musical romance with an effervescent story. The plot is developed on lively lines with imaginative and witty direction. Spirited portrayal of their roles by the actors keep things cn a level of pleasant romantic appeal. The musical element is not the least entertaining part of the picture. The director, Harry Lachman, has made a very bright and ingenious job of his effort. A diverting gaiety of spirit and some charming flashes of love making make for plenty of appeal. The whole show is free from either dullness or mawkishness. The cabaret sequences are staged with a master hand and are full of pep. Gloria Stuart, who is fast coming to the forefront in films, is starred along with Roger Pryor. The latter is a well-known Broadway singer and comedian. Taken all in all, “I Like It That Way” is the type of production to satisfy the popular audience without making it work hard to enjoy itself. The supports will include “ How to Break 90,” the first of Bobby Jones’s new golf series. Bex plans at the D.I.C. “ Dinner at Eight.” After prolonged negotiations, the much-sought-after picture, “ Dinner at Eight,” has been secured by the Regent Theatre. This film has one of the most outstanding casts of stars ever to appear in one production. It includes Marie Dressier. Lionel Barrymore, Wallace Beery, Jean Harlow, Madge Evans, Karen Morley, Edmund Lowe and Jean Hersholt. The season commences at the Regent Theatre on May 5.
