Nicol Beats Lister in Keen Bout. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, April 18. The Southland Boxing Association staged two professional contests tonight in the Civic Theatre, which was packed. Ray Nicol (Ohal), 12s 71b. defeated Harry Lister (Greymouth).- lint slh. on points In a ten-round contest. The bout was full of action, and* was voted one of the best fights ever staged in Invercargill. Lister sent Nicol down for two in the first round with a left swing to the jaw. Maurice Strickland (Wellington). 12st 71b. won on a technical knock-out in the fifth round against Billy Sullivan (Hastings), 12st Sib. Strickland wav much too good for Sullivan.
