Jackson, tM. .K., presided, and the various offices were filled by Past-Chief Rulers as follows: C.R., Brother J. Jackson; D.R., bister Judkins; guardian, Sister Coton; P.C.R., Brother Browne. The juvenile report was given by Brother A. Martin and a welcome was extended to P.S.F.M. Sister G. R. Hull, also to Sister Barnard (Hope of Dunedin Tent). It was resolved to send four tickets as prizes at St John Ambulance dances, as a means of advertising the .anniversary social on April 26. A report on the conference in Wellington was given by Brother A. Martin. Brother W. Bayliss was appointed M.C. for the anniversary social, and members were reminded of the fixture. Philipson Anniversary.—Preparations are well advanced for the twenty-third anniversary social and dance. In anticipation of an unusually large attendance the hall at St John Ambulance Association in Peterborough Street has been engaged. The committee is working hard to make the financial results of great assistance to unemployed members. Ark of Refuge Tent.- ; —In the absence of the Chief Ruler, Brother A. P. Pope, P.C.R., presided, and extended a hearty welcome to officers and members of Addington and Riecarton Tents. Five new members were initiated, and at the conclusion of business a social hour was spent in various amusements and games. Pride of Christchurch Tent.—Brother A. Wilson. Chief Ruler, presided, and Juvenile Superintendents’ reports were given by Brothers C. Lord and C. Townsend, indicating progress since last

meeting. A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives and friends of the late Brother French. Sister .Morten (Millerton Tent) received a cordial welcome. and conveyed fraternal greetings. An invitation to officers and members to attend the anniversary social on April 2t> was received. Brother L. Brown conveyed greetings to the Tent from the Hope of Auckland Tent. A special vote of thanks was accorded to Sister «*». Bunt, Brothers C. H. Bascnnd and W. L>. Bunt for their reports on the conference in Wellington. Philipson, Enterprise, Ark of Refuge and Addington Tents will visit Pride of Christchurch next meeting, when the social portion ot the evening will, be in charge of Brother G. Speirs. and will take the form of a “ Scotch night.” of Tticoart on .Juvenile Tent.— thief Ruler Brother I). Robinson extended a welcome to the Canterbury juvenfie executive and members of the 1 hilipson Tent. Sisters <l. Fisher and .Martin, Brothers Dunlop and Wilson replied on behalf of the visitors. The I’ast District Chief Ruler presented prizes to the following members: Sisters D. Muir and M. Tucker, for introducing most members; Brothers D. Robinson, F. Harper and R. Kilburn. for attendance; Sister M. Davies for an essay. The Chief Ruler received the Rash Challenge Shield on behalf of the tent. The social hour was spent in games. Sunshine Tent.—Chief Ruler Brother A. Harris presided over the fortnightly meeting held on Tuesday, 17th. A fair attendance of members was present. After the close of the meeting games were indulged in. Star of New Brighton.—Chief Ruler Brother F. T. Tindall presided, and two new candidates were initiated. Correspondence was received from the Provincial Council, and Invitations to Philipson Tent anniversary on Thursday, April 26. and also an invitation from the Mayor of NeAv Brighton to parade on Anzac Day. Reports on Richmond anniversary, Riccarton unemployed danc-e. and district conference (held at Wellington) were received. Members of Woolston Tent were welcomed. A cushion cover was presented to the lodge by Sister Cockle. After the meeting games, etc., were played, and the winners of the competitions were Sisters Woodyatt and Gott, and Brothers Trerise and Tindall. L0.0.T. Lily of Sydenham Juvenile Temple.— Brother M. Forscutt, Chief Templar, presided, and five new members were initiated. Brother A. Rennie, P.G.S.J.W., introduced Brothers T. H. Dalton (Past Grand Chief Templar, Dunedin), George Price (Grand Secretary, Wellington), and W. Campbell (Grand Superintendent of Educational Work, Port Chalmers), who were visiting the Christchurch Temples. Sister J. Brayne (superintendent) welcomed the visitors, who in responding congratulated the Temple on its record, and on the excellent manner in which the business was conducted by the officers. Brother A. Rennie reported that the Temple’s appeal regarding the “ Guest Shield ” was lost at Grand Lodge. The superintendent reported that the Temple would meet Sumner Pride Temple in the indoor sports competitions on April 19. Members were reminded of the *• London Fair ” to be held at an early date, and support was asked for from members and their parents. The proceeds of the fair will be devoted to the anniversary social fund. Lily of Sydenham Juvenile Temple.— Brother M. Forscutt, C.T., presided. Two new members were initiated. The superintendent (Sister J. Brayne), on behalf of the Grand Superintendent, presented a prize to Brother M. Forscutt for getting the largest number of new members in Canterbury during the past six months. The following officers were elected: C.T., Brother E. Marshall; V.T-. Sister V. Thompson: secretary. Sister B. Rothwell: financial secretary, Brother G. W. Cairns; treasurer. Brother R. Hewson; chaplain, Sister E. Agar; marshal. Sister D. Berry; deputy marshal. Brother T. Sullivan: guard, Brother B. Watts; sentinel. Brother J. Brazil; assistant secretary, Sister D. M’Grath. The superintendent reported that the “ London Fair ” would be held on Friday, April 27. The temple team will meet Sumner in the indoor sports competition on Thursday next. X.VJ.0.0.P. Loyal Addington Lodge.—Brother G. F. Dawson, N.G., presided, and intimation was received from the District Secretary that the District Grand Master, Brother F. Cole, would pay an official visit to the lodge on Monday, May 7. Brother J. M’Gulnness, N.G., was nominated to act on the ritual committee, if appointed. The application of Dr D. E. Orchard to be placed on the medical officers' list was considered. It was decided to hold the ladies’ evening next lodge night, when flag 500 would be played, and the lodge will commence at 6.30. Oddfellows' Sports Club. —The club has entered on its winter activities, and members are Invited to recommend players for the ladies’ hockey team. The basketball team is getting into form, and the secretary will be pleased to have the names of. intending players. The tramping club is making arrangements for the season and at the first outing further tramps will be considered.
