Board Reports on Progress of Work. Considerable progress in the work being undertaken at. Work in Township. t The annual report stated that the control of the board in the township was manifesting itself in a steadv improvement in the orderliness of the place, and in the amenities provided for residents. There was no demand for sections, nor had any new cottage been erected, but several owners had added to and improved their properties. There was good ground for the expectation tna«. when the general financial position was alleviated there would be a decided increase in building permits. The street lighting provided by the board had proved a boon to residents. The ranger had rendered much useful service to the board and the public. Particularly appreciative comment was made in respect of his services to visitors and trampers. The balance-sheet showed an excess of expenditure over income of £ll6 3s Committees Elected. Committees were elected as follows: Grounds, Dr "W. 'M’Kay, Professor 11. Speight. Messrs S. C. A. Darby, G. G. Lockwood, R. Twyneham and W. A. Kennedy; finance, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes. Dr E. Teichelmann. Messrs F. W. Freeman, W. J. Brittenden, D. G. Sullivan, M.P.; executive, Mr W. Stewart (chairman), Professor R. Speight, Messrs F. W. Freeman, G. G. Lockwood and I). G. Sullivan, M.P.; publicity, Messrs O. G. Lockwood and F. W. Freeman, Drs W. M’Kay and E. Teichelmann. On the motion of' Mr Freeman it was decided to write to (he District Highways Board pointing out the advantage that a bridge over the Bealey ford would be to motorists visiting the park, and urging the acceleration of the work.
