LIBRARY BOOKS DAMAGED

A Contemptible Offence, Says Magistrate. Per Press Association. TIMARU, April 19. In the Police Court Clarence Victor Nelson was fined £5 and ordered to pay £2 10s for wilfully damaging books in the Public Library. Nelson pleaded guilty. The Magistrate said: “ When people are trusted with public property and they go back on that it is contemptible and criminal.”
