R.S.A. ELECTION.
Big Postal Ballot is Anticipated. THE NOMINATIONS. With thirty candidates nominated for twelve seats the annual election of the executive of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association, which is to be conducted by means of a postal ballot, promises to be one of the keenest on | record. This year the president of the j association will also be elected by j postal ballot, and there are four candidates for the position, the retiring president, the Rev F. T. Read, and Messrs T. L. Drummond, W. E. Leadley and C. Miln. The vice-president and the honorary treasurer will be elected by those present at the annual meeting on Monday, April 30. Six members of the retiring executive are not seeking re-election. They are Messrs 11. Fleck, who was president in 1931-32, R. M. Grant (vice-president), E. W. Smith (honorary treasurer), H. St A. Murray, A. H. Parfitt and H. W. Wilkinson. Mr Murray’s resignation was accepted several weeks ago, and his place was filled by the appointment of Mr B. O. Priddis. Nominations for the executive closed at 5 p.m. yesterday, and the candidates are as follow, sitting members being denoted by an asterisk and former members by a dagger: J. Black, *J. S. Chisholm, fC. H. Chisnall, J. W. Crampton, H. Cronin, F. W. Cullimore, *G. H. Dabourn. N. Dale, W. H. Darby, H. E. Denton, *T. L. Drummond, J. A. East, *A. L. Emerson, F. Ferguson, J. V. Fogarty, J. H. Foster, A. L. P. Gibbens, A. Hutchison, D. Jones, J. H. Kingi, w W. E. Leadley, A. W. Mewton, C. Miln, tE. Orchard, G. R. Park, *B. O. Priddis, J. H. Prisk, "Rev F. T. Read, N. V. Wood and C. A. Yardley. The association has over 2000 members, all of whom will be issued with voting papers in the course of the next few days.
