RETURNED SOLDIERS.

St Albans Sub-Branch Elects Officers.

The annual meeting of the St Albans sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held recently. Mr \V. Bain presiding. The secretary read the report of the past year and the plans for the future. The president of the association (the Rev F. T. Read) and Mr W. E. Leadley gave addresses. The following committee was elected:— Messrs Bowden, Yardley, Sword, Sampson, Chisnall, Bain, Goodman, Rule. M’Gregor, Pullan. Gibb and Greenfield. The following officers were elected:— Chairman. 'Mr W. Bain : secretarv," Mr C. R. Rule; treasurer, Mr W. Chisnall. It was decided that, in view of the work the Rev J. F. Feron was doing for the returned soldiers in the St Albans district. a church parade be held at St Matthew’s Church on Sunday, April 22. The parade will meet at the corner of Colombo and Canon Streets at 6.30 p.m., wearing medals and poppies.
