Business on the Stock Exchange maintains a healthy tone, and a fair list of sales has been put through over the last twenty-four hours. a strong demand for Government stocks continues. At the morning's call, 4 per cents, 1940’s changed hands 10s higher at £lO3 30s. Subsequently there were buyers for all issues, but no sellers. At the last call yesterday. Bycrofts touched a new high level with a sale at £2 4s 6d, and this morning there were buyers at £2 3s, but sellers bad withdrawn. An inquiry came in for Donaghy’s Rope with a buyer at £2 6s. I nthe mining section. Waihis were firm between £1 15s and £1 15s 9d. King Solomons were asked *for at from 4s Sd to 4s lid. LATE SALES YESTERDAY. Christchurch.
