SHIPPING POTATOES.
Restriction Imposed on Weight of Bags. The Railway Department has been instructed by the shipping companies, following a meeting yesterday, not to send trucks of potatoes to the wharves where the average weight of the sacks is more than 2001bs net. Where the average weight is more than 2031bs (allowing 31b for the sack) the trucks will be diverted and the adjustment charges will be debited against the grower.
