HOME ECONOMICS.
Annual Meeting and a Demonstration. The annual meeting of the Home Economics Association was held in the Navy League Hall last evening, Miss S. M’Kee presiding in the absence of Miss Blackmore through illness. The election of officers for 193 4 resulted as follows: President, Miss M. A. Blackmore; vice-presidents. Misses S. M’Kee, L. Gilmour, C. Warcile and A. Spence: committee, Mesdames H. Barren. G. Ferguson, C. Garton, J. S. Kelly. J. Lorimer, C. L. Kollo, P. B. Stevens, Misses E. M’Gregor. J. Shaw, M. Sidey and J. Watson; honorary secretary, Miss E. Bevin; assistant secretary. Miss L. Gilmour. Two additional members, Miss E. M. Bowbyes and Mrs A. Borland, were also elected to the committee. Miss M’Kee asked for help for Miss Havelaar at the relief depot.. Last year the association had given assistance once a week at the depot, and she hoped it would do so again this year. The association also wanted helpers for Poppy Day, both as collectors on the street and in the- way of providing refreshments. On reviewing the report for last year, Miss M’Kee stated that during the past year twelve meetings had been held in the Y.M.C.A. concert hall and also the monthly committee meetings. The credit balance for the year was satisfactory. After the business associated with the annual meeting. Mrs E. L. King, of the Horticultural Society, gave an interesting demonstration on the use of flowers as table decorations in the home.
