GOOD MUSICAL COMEDY

“ Jack’s the Boy ” Returns to Civic To-morrOw.

’‘The Blarn#V Stone,” starring Tom Walls and Anne Grev. will conclude its season at the Civic Theatre to-night. In response to repeated requests British Dominions Films will to-morrow present at the Civic Theatre for a limited return season, what has turned out to be the most successful musical comedy ever released by the British studios. When “Jack’s the Boy” was screened in New Zealand last year, it established records in every city, and when later released in Australia, broke “Sunshine Susie’s” Australian record by a continuous run of twenty-five weeks in Melbourne. Starring three of the most popular stars on the screen, Jack Hulbert, Cicely Courtneidge and Winifred Shotter, the picture is one of those happy entertainments that possesses appeal for everybody. This film is not a spasmodic compound of funny incident or an intermittent flow of wit —it is comedy in full flood with Jack Hulbert and Cicely Courtneidge in charge of the flood gates of humour. Not only is Hulbert a bom comedian, but he also knows how to sing and dance and he uses all his talents to the greatest possible advantage in this his masterpiece. Excellent supports include "By the Weigh” (Ideal News), Summit Seekers CK-Z' Scenic), Cold Blooded Friends (Nature). Box plans are now open at the Civic where seats may be reserved at no extra charge.
